F-Gas Regulations and how it impacts you.

From 4 July 2006 obligations were imposed an operators of refrigerant and air conditioning systems, to contain, prevent and reduce emissions of fluorinated gases.
Leak Testing
Your obligations in terms of leak testing are regulated by the amount of refrigerant present in your individual systems.

3 kg refrigerant charge

Leak inspection at least every 12 months

30 kg refrigerant charge

Leak inspection at least every 6 months

300 kg refrigerant charge

Leak inspection at least every 3 months

Units over 300kg require leakage detection systems being installed, inspected once a year.

Repaired leaks require re-checking within a month.

R22 Refrigerant Phase Out

New legislation, effective from 1.1.10 will implement the phase-out of R22 refrigerant.
